Fern Eunice Kalis, 69, 2025, of Royalton, passed away at 12:44 a.m., Thursday, February 27, 2025, at SIH Herrin Hospital.
Fern was born on October 5, 1955, in Du Quoin, Illinois to Ernie and Hazel (Donaldson) Perruquet. Fern was a hard worker and ran her own cleaning company for many years. She also had a servant's heart and worked as a caregiver to many people. She was a member of the Zeigler Eagles and Italian Club in Coello.
Fern enjoyed crafting and ceramics. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking meals for her family and having them all together at her home.
She is survived by her children, Cecelia (Rudy Bramlett) Perruquet of Zeigler, Dawn Mathis of Zeigler, Charlie (Clarence) McCay of Royalton and David Brown of Marion; grandchildren, Danielle Kalis, Brandi Duering, John Duering Jr., Seth Mathis, Veronica Stephens, Brianna Becker, Angelica Scholp, Cora-Ann Kellum, Jaeden Granfeldt, Savanna Brown, Landon Brow
