Ruth Yvonne Mings Goddard of West Frankfort, IL andn formerly of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully with her sister, Betty, at her side at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at her home in West Frankfort.
She was born in Raleigh, IL on Thursday, April 18, 1918, the daughter of Ora Everett and Edna Mae Beatrice (Heathman) Mings.
She grew up in West Frankfort and was a graduate of Frankfort Community High School Class of 1936.
She was united in marriage to Clarence Harold Goddard on Saturday, April 5, 1941 in Carmi, IL. Together they shared almost 59 years of marriage until his death on Sunday, January 9, 2000.
Her working career was as a pharmacy assistant, working in many different pharmacies over her career.
She was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church.
Ruth's main hobby was her family's history and genealogy.
She was the family matriarch and looked forward to the many times they would all be together. The memories created will be cherished by those she leaves behind.
